Privacy Policy

This explains what information Roadmere collects when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to roadmere.com (the "Site"), operated by Roadmere ("Roadmere," "we," "us"). It describes how we handle personal information when you browse routes and stories, use the trip planner, search flights, or contact us. It does not apply to third-party sites we link to, including flight-search and booking partners, which have their own privacy practices.

2

Information we collect

We collect information in a few ways:

  • Information you provide directly — such as your name and email address if you contact us, submit a travel story, or sign up for updates.
  • Trip planner and flight search inputs — such as origin, destination, and travel dates you enter to search flights or plan a route.
  • Usage data — collected automatically, such as pages viewed, routes searched, device and browser type, approximate location (derived from IP address), and referring pages, typically through analytics tools.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5.

We do not knowingly collect payment card details — flight and trip bookings are completed on our partners' sites, not on Roadmere.

3

How we use it

We use the information above to:

  • Operate and improve the Site, including the route planner and search flights tool
  • Respond to messages sent through our contact form
  • Review and publish traveler-submitted stories
  • Understand how people use Roadmere, so we can improve routes and content
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse

We do not sell your personal information.

4

Affiliate & booking partners

Roadmere's flight search is powered by third-party partners (for example, services like Travelpayouts, Skyscanner, or Kayak). When you search or click through to book a flight, hotel, or trip:

  • You leave Roadmere and interact directly with that partner's site
  • The partner's own privacy policy and terms govern any information you provide there, including payment details
  • Roadmere may earn a commission if you book through these links — this doesn't change the price you pay
  • We may receive limited data back from partners (such as confirmation that a click led to a booking) for the purpose of measuring referral commissions
We recommend reviewing each partner's privacy policy before submitting personal or payment information on their site.
5

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working properly, remember basic preferences, and understand aggregate usage through analytics. Some cookies may be set by third parties, including our analytics provider and, if you interact with the flight search widget, our booking partners.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some features, such as the flight search tool or saved trip preferences.

6

Sharing & disclosure

We share information only in these circumstances:

  • With service providers who help us run the Site (for example, hosting and analytics providers), under obligations to protect your data
  • With flight-search and booking partners, limited to what's needed to process your search or referral, as described in Section 4
  • If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Roadmere or others
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you where required
7

Retention & security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information you share with us, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

8

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing — for example, under the GDPR (EEA/UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9

Children's privacy

Roadmere is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

10

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
